Mycotoxins, which can have high toxicity for humans and animals, can occur in all stages of food production, in the post-production storage phase, which can have very critical consequences for the economy, food safety and human health.
The fact that molds that produce mycotoxins are mostly specific to the food, immunoaffinity chromatography (sample preparation) - has resulted in the most commonly used techniques in the analysis of many of the mycotoxins (especially aflatoxins) in the analysis of HPLC methods.
In the analysis, if a single food group is targeted (nuts, wheat, infant milk, etc.), the mentioned techniques can be preferred, but when the subject comes to complex foods (baby food, baby dietary products, cacao nuts, cream etc.) the situation is complicated. will.
Since such foods are blends and the sources of the herbal / animal foods they contain are different, they can be a mycotoxin cocktail, and the analysis of each mycotoxin group also means a separate sample preparation phase.
In summary, when the complex foodstuff is encountered, the analysis time will be increased and the cost of analysis will increase.
Using the LC-MSMS method, it is possible to perform the analysis of a multi-component complex foodstuff by one injection, reducing sample preparation to a single method.
The study was performed with LCMSMS model LCMS-8040 of Shimadzu brand.
